Okay… so this is my very first blog post. I’m not exactly sure what I’m supposed to say here, but I figured a good place to start is just by introducing myself and letting you know why I’m doing this whole travel thing in the first place.
My name is Cheryll and Im 56 years old. I’m Canadian, but I met my husband in Texas almost 30 years ago at an outdoor volleyball tournament (yes, I still think that's a pretty great "how we met" story). We have two boys who are now grown and out living their own lives, which has left us with a lot more free time and a serious case of the travel bug.
Over the years, we’ve cruised with pretty much everyone .From Carnival to Celebrity to Norwegian to Holland America. And we've always had fun. But when we tried Virgin Voyages, something just clicked. It felt different in the best way. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s adults only, or that the food is actually amazing (and no buffets!). Or maybe it’s just those red hammocks on the balcony that we love so much . We usually book inside cabins, but with Virgin, we splurge for the Sea Terrace just for that hammock (ok, well maybe the view and the ocean air too).
A little about me? I’m more comfortable in shorts and sneakers than dresses and heels. I love spicy food, I always say yes to trivia, and you might catch us doing karaoke, but only in private rooms (no audience, please 😅). So far, my favorite port of call has been Barcelona. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
So yeah, this is me. I’m not trying to be super polished or pitch anything. I just really love cruising and thought maybe I could help other people fall in love with it too. If you're reading this, thanks for being here, and I hope you stick around as I figure this whole thing out.
